Kiss Nail Dress Product Review

What is it?

Kiss Nail Dress – Fashion That Sticks are a high quality sticker type product that you use on your nails to give them style. They come in 18 different styles and some of them even have jeweled features on them. To apply all you have to do is find the right size, peel them off the sheet, apply, and remove the excess. It’s a quick and easy way to get a fancy manicure or pedicure in your own home. They should last at least 10 days and do not need any sort of top coat. They’re very durable but are still easy to remove. You could even use these strips to create all kinds of patterns or designs of your own. Just cut them into the desired shaped and apply. The booklet included in the package gives you some starting ideas you could try. These nail kits are available in all major drug chains and mass retailers like WalMart, CVS and Walgreens.

My experience

I received this product complimentary to test through Influenster‘s VoxBox program. I was a little hesitant when I first saw these. First of all, I have hardly any nails so I was unsure how well these would actually work on them. Also, I’m terrible at any type of nail products. I always smear my polish or mess up fake nails. I’m generally just a walking time bomb with any sort of product for nails. But I decided to give it a try anyways. I have to say this was extremely easy to use. I didn’t make any mistakes and they all looked great. I will admit that I hate this design. lol I would never ever have pick it for myself and I think it looks slightly ridiculous on my short nails. Because of this, I only left them on a few days but they didn’t look like they were going to fall off any time soon. I did dishes and took showers and they still looked in great shape.

Final opinion

I definitely would be more interested in other designs or even just plain colors. The ones I received were not my style at all but I can’t complain since it was free. Kiss Nail Dress should maybe think about revising the directions in the kit. They have you using the file to remove the excess but it would be much easier to cut them down closer to the size of your nail and then filing the rest off. That way you would also have more extra to use for creating fun designs. Putting that aside, I love this product. It’s a lot of fun and I like that you can do a crazy manicure quickly and easily and it doesn’t have to last until you go get them done again.

Venus & Olay Razor Product Review

What is it?

The Gillette Venus & Olay razor is a partnership of both Gillette razors and Olay skincare. This razor has 5 blades which makes shaving very easy and comfortable even around tricky areas like knees or ankles. The Olay Moisture Bars help combat dry skin and makes your skin glow. With the moisture bars, you don’t need any sort of shaving cream nor will you need to use lotion afterwards. This is a refillable razor, so when needed you can just buy replacement cartridges and you’re good to go. This razor will be available starting March 15 at food, drug, convenience and mass merchandise stores throughout the United States.

My experience

I received this product complimentary to test through Influenster‘s VoxBox program. I was intrigued when I first saw this razor. I have used similar products before but they were bulky and a pain to use. I was excited to see that this razor had kept the slim shape that’s usual for Gillette razors. When I opened the package I noticed that it smelled nice. Like a vaguely sweet/honey/almond scent. I was happy about this because I have allergies and any sort of floral scent causes me issues. I used this razor on my legs first and it was great. You could hardly notice that you were shaving your legs. There was no tugging or general razor-y feeling; It felt very smooth and gentile the whole time. I found that the moisture bars did get kind of slimy after a while but it was no big deal, you could just rinse it off. Also about the moisture bars, you definitely did not need any extra shaving cream or soap etc. It did great helping the razor do its job. Finally, I like that it has a holder that you can stick in your shower. It’s an awesome way to keep it handy but out of the way.

Final opinion

This is an excellent addition to the Gillette razor range. It definitely does just as well as any other razor of this brand and it has additional benefits with the moisture bars. I did find that after shaving my legs felt sort of rashy. However I’ve used it since then and did not have this problem so it was probably just my skin getting used to the moisture bars. I also didn’t really find that it made any difference in the dryness of my skin but I don’t really mind. I do think that it would be fantastic for traveling because you wouldn’t have to bring shaving cream or anything with you. I also love that you can buy replacement cartridges instead of having to buy a new razor every time. I love Gillette’s razors and I think I would definitely purchase this particular kind in the future.

Truvía natural sweetener Product Review

What is it?

Truvía is an all natural sweetener that isn’t made up of all kinds of horrible chemicals like most sweeteners today. It’s made from the stevia plant which has been used for sweetening foods for hundreds of years. It has zero calories (unlike sugar) so you can feel better about using it in your everyday foods and beverages. Another great aspect to this product is that it’s safe for diabetics to use. They also have a baking blend which you can use in your baking to replace regular sugar.

My experience

I received this product complimentary to test through Influenster‘s VoxBox program. I have to say that I was very wary about trying this product. I don’t use sweeteners because I don’t really sweeten things all that often and I don’t like the fact that most of them are just full of chemicals. I’d rather just have sugar than risk it. However this is natural so I felt much better about it. I decided to try this both by itself and on my cereal. By itself I could definitely tell it was not sugar. It had a different texture to it and it seemed to dissolve on my tongue almost instantly. It also vaguely tasted different but it was not unpleasant. On my cereal, I could not tell the difference between it and sugar. It was great!

Final opinion

I think that Truvía is a great product.  However, I doubt I’ll be purchasing this product myself. Not because I didn’t like it but because I don’t really have much use for it personally. If you use sweetener all the time, I’d definitely switch to using Truvía. I feel like it’s much better for you and safer in the long run.

Smith’s Rosebud Salve Product Review

What is it?

On the label of Smith’s Rosebud Salve  it says that it’s a salve that “may help to relive chapped lips and skin, diaper rash, blemishes, detergent burns, rough cuticles, and may soften rough hands.” It has a glossy, non-sticky, non-waxy, texture with strong rose scent.

My experience

I received this in my February Beauty Box 5 box. I didn’t really know what to think about this at first. It has a lot of claims and I who knows if it would live up to any of them. When I opened it I instantly hated the scent. I can’t stand florals and this is very very strong. The texture is kind of weird but it wasn’t bad. I used this as lip gloss/balm and on my cuticles and it did seem to help both of these areas.

Final opinion

I wouldn’t buy this again on the scent alone. However, on their website I saw that they have different versions so I may check those out instead. My lips are smoother after using the salve and my cuticles are in much better condition. If you like the scent of rose then I’d definitely buy this product.

I have never re-bought a mascara in my life

I have a problem. I’m on the quest to find my ultimate mascara and it’s driving me crazy. I’ve been looking for years and I’ve bought numerous mascaras but none of them are “the one”. Some are good, some are great, some have cost a crazy amount of money (I’m looking at you Phenomen’eyes), some have made my eyes burn (wtf). If one is really popular I’m pretty much guaranteed to hate it e.g. Maybelline Great Lash. (Sorry Maybelline but it does nothing for me) I don’t know if I’ll ever find it but these three are the ones I like the most so far.

My name is Erin and I’m both pale and hungry! When I decided I wanted to start a blog, I couldn’t make up my mind whether or not I wanted to focus on makeup and beauty products or cooking. Then I figured, why not do both? So I am. lol I’ll make sure to tag things accordingly if you’re only interested in one or the other.

There are tons of beauty related blogs out there and they’re all spectacular.  I have found though there are few that feature people that are as pale as I am. This makes it hard to imagine what certain products will look like on me when my skin tone is nowhere close to theirs. Maybe this blog will help other people in the same situation I’m in.

were playing frisbe and I left it sitting out cause I’m dumb and now
its not working. Yay…-_- My parents are going to kill me.
